League of Legends: Wild Rift has quickly picked up traction on the global level and now, Riot Games have confirmed a multi-regional event for later this year.
Earlier this year, Riot Games launched a mobile version of their acclaimed MOBA title, League of Legends, entitled Wild Rift. Since then, the game has grown to magnificent heights, even beginning to gain major traction in the esports world – with the Southeast Asia Wild Rift Championships 2021 currently ongoing. With that in mind, Riot are giving us a multi-regional event to close out the preseason with the Wild Rift Horizon Cup.
Announced a short time ago, the Wild Rift Horizon Cup is set to take place from November 13 to 21, coming to us from the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore. The event will see a total of 10 teams from around the globe fighting for a chance to become the first ever Wild Rift International champion. For now, the teams are still to be decided, with qualifiers taking place in many different regions.
Leo Faria, the Global Head of Wild Rift Esports had the following to say on the Horizon Cup event,
The Wild Rift Horizon Cup is the first of many steps we will take to show how committed we are to our mobile fans around the world. We are excited to share more of what we’ve been preparing for the future of the sport later this year.
