PDD Announces His Retirement

Liu "PDD" Mou revealed he will retire. The announcement follows Invictus Gaming's first LPL best-of-two without him yesterday.

After Invictus Gaming replaced PDD with YongSu in the top lane, many expected him to announce his retirement. PDD insisted that he would make his retirement announcement on his own terms if and when he made that decision. Today, he posted that he will indeed be retiring on his weibo. He remembered his years in competitive LoL fondly, but assured fans he is ready for a new beginning.

Retirement is not only an end point of my journey, but also a new starting point.
—PDD, 2014

PDD will be remembered fondly as one of the top lane legends of his time. Should he choose to remain in LoL scene in a non-playing capacity, he would likely be welcomed with open arms.
