Player Spotlight: Taimou, losing is not an option

In this series from GosuGamers, we are going to introduce you to some of the best players that Overwatch has to offer. A lot of the current top players have competed at a high level in various other games and genres before joining the Overwatch scene. These player profiles aim to provide you with information on their previous competitive history (including team history) as well as a brief overview of the player's Overwatch preferences. Let's have a look at the new Team EnVyUs.

Gaming History

Timo "Taimou" Kettunen has spent most of his life in various competitive gaming communities, ranging from shooters to RTS titles and MOBAs too. What started in 2002, when he was 9 years old, with Counter-Strike 1.5 continued on with TF2, then Brink, then SC2, Shootmania and League of Legends. But now Taimou has possibly found his long-term home in a game with a bright future: Overwatch.

Taimou might be most familiar to fans of Team Fortress 2. TF2 is a game that is perhaps the closest relative of Overwatch, or maybe even the inspiration, and Taimou earned himself a lot of respect in that scene with his Medic play. He also lost a lot of respect for his childish and rude behaviour, but that is hardly uncommon among young gamers, and has had more than enough time to grow and improve himself in that aspect.

Timo has had to deal with some setbacks in Overwatch already; before the beta break he played for k1ck, which disbanded during the break, and after the break he played with IDDQD, but was at one point replaced with Mendokusaii. Taimou stayed dedicated to the scene however, and was ultimately rewarded with a spot back in the roster after the departure of TviQ and Mendo both. While some players would have held a grudge after the way he first left the team, Taimou approached the situation professionally and was rewarded with his EnVyUs contract.

Quickfire Questions:
Defense or Offense? Offense, though we as IDDQD were known for our super strong defense, I think offense is much more fun to play since I prefer aggressive and high risk high reward playstyle.
Favourite wacky rules/Weekly Brawl? Never played those so I don't know.
IDDQD or EnVyUs? I wish we could be EnVyUs.IDDQD hahaha, but EnVyUs is a really cool name too!

While Taimou has stated he prefers playing game-deciding heroes, and has played support in the past because of this, he is most known for his hitscan heroes such as McCree and Widowmaker. Especially with TaleSpin now being his teammate, a player who both prefers to use and has a lot of experience with projectiles, Taimou is free to play whatever hitscan character he thinks best for the situation.

Widowmaker might be his favourite hero to play, and while we can expect her to keep showing up in matches on a regular basis, Taimou is more than capable of picking up whatever the current flavour of the meta is. Currently this would be McCree, but Soldier: 76 and Tracer are also included in his hero pool. Because of the defensive strength of the EnVyUs roster, Taimou can depend on his teammates to play the game-deciding supports and tanks, while he steals the spotlight with amazing snipes.
