TY V DARK GSL super tournament [[SPOILERS]]
Can we have a discussion here about what happened in these games?
I'm not masters - not a pro and probably don't watch half as much as I would like to but Dark looks like he favors roach rav a lot and they just seem to fall apart against basic MMM thanks to the lack of DPS and the clunky/slow style of it.
Then he switches lurker but doesn't seem to get a lot of repeat damage out of them. Sets up for a push and terran falls back and then the ghosts come and sweep out the lurkers almost instantly and now dark is down 1000/1000 resources for a few marines and a tank. It's super horrid ineffective and yet he kept doing it.
Tastetosis were talking about how he might be trying to engage in a new style for ZVT that's completely left of field in the hopes of revolutionizing the matchup but they're just not an effective fighting unit and leave you open to easy harass as roaches will only overwhelm MMM when the numbers are massively in their favor.
The fungals were clever too, as I believe they do damage which means ghosts cannot snipe or hold a snipe during that - but then it felt like Dark didn't know where to go from there -it was more of a stall than a tool to actually push back and beat the terran position.
I just feel like for people like myself that don't watch every game of every tourney always it would be good to speak more as a community about these kind of games.
Did Dark have much chance winning this? I feel like a double nydus would have been great as TY had his bases covered by a single siege tank, end the production for the terran and that's how you really get ahead because those orbitals just keep raking in money.
I loved the series, found it non stop engaging but the roach/rav into lurker composition is just too poor at handling this kind of end game.
