ESC-Gaming with White-Ra, Strelok, IefNaij and DinOt in the roster, outplayed Templars of Twilight in the grand finals of WGTour Clan League. Only player from the Templars to score was the stalwart Dutchman jos "ret" de Kroon.
ESC-Gaming's young Chilean was able to take out Mondragon in the first game on Colloseum. In a 20-minute sleeping pill, DinOt fended off the attacks from the mutaling master Mondragon. And thanks to an early expansion and usage of scourges, DinOt could win the first game.
- I thought I had it, said Mondragon in the start of the second game, whereas DinOt said 'me too'.
The second game on Destination proved to be a short-lived story. 6 minutes in, DinOt impressively hit Mondragon's mutalisks with all four scourges, which placed him in mutalisk advantage along with an even number of zerglings. Seeing no chance to hold it back, Mondragon typed out.
ret saved ToT from all-kill
The only player to grab a point for Templars of Twilight was "ret", who locked horns with "IefNaij". As ruled, Colloseum was the first map. The Dutchman maintained a hydra/lurker contain throughout the game which starved the Canadian Protoss. With late-game lurker drop harass on the Canadian's natural, and the eventual zergling/hydra drop, "IefNaij" got outplayed.
"IefNaij" tried proxying "ret" on Blue Storm, but the dual gateways were spotted by a scouting overlord. "ret" could then easily command his troops to victory from there, earning a much needed point for his team.
Ukrainian duo victorious
"White-Ra" and "Strelok" had a rougher time against their opponents "Naugrim" and "ParanOid", but could come out victorious after 2-1 wins each.
This might have been the last WGTour Clan League season. LastNight69, part of the administrational team at WGTour, revealed that they are working on a new project, and that WGTCL will be closed for a while.
