WCG07: The Horde invades Seattle

[s]event_498[/s]

Lok-Tar Ogar, my brethren. As Lyn and Ciara were eliminated yesterday, it has fallen to five brave Orc players to defend their race's glory in the WCG. Grubby, xiaOt, Konna, Firestrike and Fly100% will be entering the tournament tonight and be sure that they'll fight to the last Peon before admitting defeat.

Ciara and Lyn knocked out

When the dust from yesterday's playday had settled, we found that no Orc players had advanced to the Playoffs. Much hope was put in Ciara and, especially, Lyn to bear the Orcish banner in to the knockout phase of the tournament. Since both were situated in Group D, also known as "The Group of Death", the outlook for victory was grim from the start.

However, many predicted that Lyn, who is by some considered as the world's best Orc, would make it through. But after losing to SoJu, Zeus and Sky, the Korean was unfortunately eliminated from the tournament. Ciara, on the other hand, did manage to defeat SoJu but lost to all of the other top players Bring it on, weaklings!and ended on a somewhat disappointing 6th place.

For the Horde!

Today, it's payback time. The Orcs are sending in their reinforcements as the top Orc trio Grubby, Fly100% and the replacement xiaOt enter the World Cyber Games arena together with Konna and Firestrike, who are also Orcs to be reckoned with and are both in the same group.

Group E: Konna and Firestrike underdogs
The brightest star in this group is surely SaSe, though he's proved to be a very inconsistent player lately. The Austrian Firestrike will defend the Horde's pride together with Konna from Finland. Though they are not considered among the very top, they are still both strong players and one of them should be able to snatch the 2nd place leadings to the playoffs.

Group F: Piece of cake for Fly100%
The Chinaman Wei Liang "Fly100%" Li's been one of the strongest looking Orc players lately. Though he still lacks some experience from international events, this guy could very well go all the way and win the entire tournament. Since TitaN, who was considered as Fly100%'s toughest opponent in this group, is not present in Seattle due to VISA related issues, the Chinaman's Blademaster should have no trouble slicing his way through this group.

Group H: Grubby and xiaOt favorites
The expert strategist Grubby is undoubtly the greatest Orc player of all time, although he has slacked off a bit lately. He's been put in a rather difficult group together with xiaOt, who's replacing his Chinese countryman Lyc. Though they are both predicted to advance, they'll sure be in for a struggle as the likes of Giacomo, DeMusliM and Glade are no pushovers. Grubby has proved to be somewhat weak in the Orc vs. Orc matchup. This just might be a huge factor in the group's outcome.
