GosuGamers have now had seven Christmas tournaments. The 8th is the invitational tournament. It starts today at 19:00 CET. So far we've given you little info about it but here comes more.
What has been posted before is that this tournament will be part of the christmas series here at GosuGamers. That means that the top2 will qualify for a final tournament along with the top2 of the previous seven christmas tours. Some of the players have also been revealed. iG.KaaZ and Odin[SomE] are the ones already known to participate, which now gets added with Macedonian winner HeRoS)Ozerg and a good American player that goes by the name of oG)Alexa.
In random order: 01. eye.Mireille 02. iG.KaaZ 03. HeRoS)Ozerg (replaced by )ToT(TreK) 04. mYm.Stinger 05. Odin[some] (replaced by Squall.TmG.) 06. PuLs.Reason 07. Play.Satanik (replaced by mYm.WoOk.) 08. Play.Zatoichi 09. rS.Daze 10. oG)Alexa 11. ash.doLife 12. Daaman[TmG] 13. eSa.Schnibl0r 14. HeRoS)Oldy 15. iG.Bundy 16. Play.Enemy |
So far that is all you get to know, but the news will be updated later on. Of course we'll tell you about the maps and format for this event as well. It follows the Christmas tournament recipe when it come to the format. It is best of 3 single elimination with a best of 5 final. The map pool is as follows:
Lost Temple Gaia Luna Rush Hour Gaema Gowon Plains to Hill Azalea Iron Curtain |
The maps are listed in order, meaning that LT is the start map for round 1, Gaia for round 2 and so on. Then it is loser's pick. The same map cannot be played twice in one round. Stay tuned for more updates on this tournament as they will come soon. Note that there will only be 4 rounds due to there being 16 players, so the other maps are just there to be in the map pool, and to be chosen from.
*Update1: 2 new players added, no less than mYm.Stinger and
Gurram[TmG]. Who will be next? Is there a pattern? Up to you to find out.
*Update2: eye.Mireille and eSa.Schnibl0r, great players from Norway and Germany that enter this tourney with only one goal: winning it.
*Update3: ash.doLife and raZz.Reason are also participating! doLife is a good terran from germany, as reason is a well-known zerg from brazil, who managed to beat Silent_Control one game on wcg.
*Update4: Play.Zatoichi and rS.Daze have been added to the grid. Both are great players that frequently play for their national teams.
*Update5: Play.Satanik and Daaman[TmG] have been added as well! Both are excellent players. Satanik is known as the star player in the
Greek national team, and Daaman has recently returned to the spotlights by playing in the Americup, and is back to the Swedish national team.
*Update6: Unfortunately, Gurram[TmG] had to cancel for the tourney. We're currently looking for a replacement Protoss, but don't worry, we'll find one in time. On another note, another player has been released. His name is iG.Bundy, a french protoss who will try and prove his name on this tournament.
*Update7: The last 2 players have just been released! Canada's
HeRoS)Oldy, currently 19th on PGT, and the strong Ukrainian
Play.Enemy are the last players to be released for this last christmas tourney before its grand final. Let's hope this becomes a blast, people! Wish them gl & hf. By the way, did you find the pattern?
