The God Protoss oGsMC trampled SEn to win his opening game at DHS 2011. Same did Swedish terran Merz against group favourite Idra.
The Zerg King SEn was no problem for two-times GSL champion MC as the latter went through the series with a quick 2-0. SEn tried to use Mutalisks to control Metalopolis and keep MC in his base but the toss deathball of the Korean would have none of that and easily blazed through the squishy force of SEn. MC then seized the series with a tight 6-gate timing push, catching SEn before his burrow tech would complete.
In the opening match of Group C, Merz pulled a 2-1 victory against EG's Idra. After being down 0-1 due to massive brood lord army from Idra, Merz pulled a comeback on Xel'Naga Caverns and Crevasse by doing excellent hellion harass into marine/tank transition. Despite having a huge macro advantage in the third set, a bad engagement by Idra caused him to fall hugely behind and lose the series shortly after.
