I like to play custom SC2 games with unlocked supply, and that means I usually have upwards of 1000 supply by the time the match ends. I have a pretty solid modern gaming PC, and without fail, once I start to hit 400-500 supply my FPS starts tanking. Every fight with the opponent turns into a 15fps slideshow.
Obviously the first step is to turn down my graphics settings, which I did. The average difference between Ultra and Low settings was a whole 4fps. In both cases, my CPU and GPU never went above 50% utilization.
I know that this problem exists because SC2 was optimized for much older computers, but like, come on. This game has had an extremely dedicated playerbase for an entire decade. I feel like SOMEONE must have fixed the performance problems. Like a performance mod or something. I usually play offline anyways, I don't care if the mod blocks me from playing online. I just want to get playable framerates. My PC gets more frames playing Red Dead 2 on Ultra, than a 10 year old RTS on Low. That's kinda ridiculous.
