Evaluation:
The game went very well. Early this week we set the walkover rule so it wouldn't take 6 hours like it does otherwise. China was ready with a team immediately(within 10 min) and so was Sweden. So, almost no delays which is quite unusual for an event like this one.
However, WhiZ won two fast games against mx)300 which made us all happy and gave us self-confidence. After that, TreK lost two games vs HK. Daaman started loosing, and DeliCato had to leave. The score was now 2-2. Ai-Dealer had to take over for DeliCato, and won his game against Linyu)Visual. Brejk lost by 2 games to 1 against HBQ who showed some really good games. The score was now 3-3. It had to be determined by a 2on2. Would Sweden lose their first game in three years ? Would Sweden lose their first nation vs nation game ever?. Sweden represented by Daaman and SaFT in the 2on2 and China by Cphk and PrinceOfArt (aka PJ).
First game started. Early rush on Daaman by Cphk who successfully disturbed Daaman's wall-in. Saft helped with zerglings and they almost made it, until a swarm of 6-7 marines came and eliminated Daaman. It was very close. Saft suddenly said "GG" and left, so did Daaman. In my opinion, the game wasn't over. Anyway, it was kind of laggy and hard to play. Chinese players' computer equipment: 14.4 modem and P-486 computers.
Second game started, this time without observers. Replay says "Neo Halls of Valhalla". Everyone in the channel was nervous. Very nervous. Especially me. Saft joins the channel after a short while and says "1-1 -.-". It was now 1-1 and a final and last match had to be played. Cphk had to leave so Team_Cn took over.
Third game began. Damn! Would we lose ? Daaman, Saft, Team_Cn & PJ were the ones, alone, to decide. It was all up to them now. The game had to be played. During the game, we were hysterical. Everyone wrote in caps lock and the replay said it was 20 minutes of gaming but it felt like it took 45-50 mins. The wait was unbearable! WhiZ suddenly said "Daaman whispers me and told me he's dead". We started screaming, almost crying but then he said "J/K" which resulted in an instant kick out from the channel. Damn liar! When my nails were bitten apart and the air in my room was so damn foul, they finally came back to channel. Saft smoothly says:
"Hometeam wins."
COWABUNGA! We made it! 21 wins in a row. Good Game China! Really, Good Game!
