Several hours have gone since the WCG Nordic 2004 finished. We've all had time to think through the event and decide whether we liked it or not. As a whole, StarcraftGamers Crew are very satisfied with it and being there and hearing people speak, it felt like almost everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.However, we want your opinion of it. We want the view from the participants; What was good? What was bad? What can we do better or do instead?
We are aware of some of the things the participants - including us - did not like very much. Here's the list (which you don't have to include in the e-mails since we already know about them):
- Long waiting time for the Swedish playoffs. To be honest, we we're quite unprepared for the playoffs. It is of course our responsibility and we apologize for it. The problems were caused since we were about to create brackets at www.bracketmaker.com, but they had removed their support for 64 player double elimination tournaments. This forced us to seed manually and make a lot of randomization with who should have autowins and who shouldn't. After a lot of help from Daaman, Dealer and Ilvy, we finally got brackets up, handmade in Excel.
- All replays not being included in the packages. This was since the Smartlaunch system had to be launched after 12, and no one could upload their replays to the \\ios141 system anymore. We did it manually on top3 from every country, but it seems like the rest of the replays from the playoffs are lost.
- Too short of time and finals being played when everyone was very tired. This was caused by the time delay for the Swedish playoffs and the Norwegian and Finnish playoffs taking longer time than expected.
