As promised, July 2007 was a programming month. Here's an update - we know it's two weeks old but we promised a list of which things were changed:
Completely remade the search functions. The new ones work more like Google, matching keywords rather than exact phrases. The forum search, in particular, is rather heavy. Check it out.
Improved the design and accuracy of the diagrams in each profile of the Rankings. Wins are now green and losses are red. Penalty for inactivity is also displayed in the graphs.
Optimized site speed by adding a lock for all comment parts of news where the last reply was more than one month old. This enabled us to cache these comments and remove them from the database. A new manual was also added for Moderators to handle comment pages easier.
Added a forum archive, where all threads older than one month is moved to. These are all findable by the search function, but not displayed in the paging when browsing a forum's index. By doing this, much as with the comments, the size of forum post replies and threads are cut down 90%.
Added some minor padding for all input boxes.
Added a news bot to #gosugamers at QuakeNet. He is called "Finnbawt" and is a little buggy, but he, too, will grow up one day.
Added a new navigation bar.
Made the controversial decision to move the Upcoming GosuBets to the right menu. Don't worry - we will keep redesigning and it will move to an even better place soon.
Improved the layout and content of the GosuBet module's front page.
Improved our functionality for detecting and dealing with users who have more than one account registered at the site.
Fixed a bug where inactivity points would not be dealt correctly.
Fixed a bug where winning points would be given out with an inaccuracy of a few points. Several gamers now have their points fixed.
Fixed a bug where users would not be redirected correctly when using a combination of autologin and clicking a link that was not leading to the index file (like a news link in our RSS).
Fixed a bug where the BWLauncher Latest News section from StarCraft would display the latest news -10, meaning not quite the most recent ones.
Fixed a bug where DotA's GosuBet highscore would not be saved.
