GOMtv.net Publishes Press Release and New Schedule

GOMtv.net has announced the broadcast schedule and groups of the new GSL Season for Code S and Code A matches. The broadcast will begin on February 21st 2011.

The new GSL season will once again last approximately a month with a week-long break between the semi finals and the finals of the Code S. In between the two match dates, GOMtv has scheduled Up & Down matches to be broadcast over four days in the last week of the GSL season. The Up & Down matches will be played from March 14th to March 17th.

Code A and Code S matches will alternate broadcast days with Code A round of 32 matches beginning on February 21st. The next day, February 22nd will see the start of the Code S matches with Groups A and B. This rotation will continue until the end of the third week where all Code A matches will have completed with the Code A finals being held on March 11th.

New Maps


The press release also announced the addition of new maps to the GSL map pool. Crevasses, Crossfire SE, Terminus, and Tal'Darim Altar will be added to the season. These maps were previously used in the GSTL during the brief pause between GSL seasons. Due to the increase in popularity by fans, GOMtv has decided to add those maps to the new GSL season.

Prizes


The champion of the Code S finals will be awarded 50,000,000 KRW while the runner-up will be awarded 20,000,000 KRW. That is almost $45,000 USD or 33,000€ to first place and $18,000 USD or 13,000€ to second place.
