My very first article here at Stacraftgamers was » Private Servers, where I noted the ever increasing tendency of gamers leaving Battle.net and going 'private'. Since then, all mayhem broke loose and we have had the proliferation of very public 'private' servers. Back then I wrote:The Russian Broodwar community got me thinking about how there are subcultures of starcraft gamers that never even see Battle.net. A lot of Russians play in a private server. This is a growing tendency and it happens in many other countries. The Russian community has always been highly independent when it comes to Broodwar due to obvious economical reasons. Recently I saw in Teamliquid.net forums where gybson humbly offers their servers as “another server”. He even states also that they will remain independent from the new shining star of all private servers, neogamei; quoting him: With big respect to neogamei and master I think that we will be different servers. Our competition is a way to be better for both servers.In his humble post he does not even mention that they have existed for years before neogamei! I will like to make a little justice and remind all that both the Argentinean server, the Ombu, and Starcraft.org.ru are probably the oldest running servers out there. They are by no means new servers. They have their die hard loyal communities that have followed their existence since the very beginning.

So on a final note let me quote them and help the Russian lads out by repeating gybson's announcement from the mentioned forum:
