Team 88) is playing in both WGTCL and BWCL, the originally German Brood War Clanleague. GosuGamers.net sat down with the last season's champions' team leader.
The WGTour Clanleague Season 5 was won by the American team -
TeaM 88), who only lost one match - against 
SoL. According to the leader himself, 88)controL, their champion title wasn't earned because they had the best players, it was because of their unity and diversity. The longer the interview goes, you realize how organized and stabilized this clan is.You won the Season 5 of WGTCL. Tell me a bit about it. How come your team in particular won it? What are your strengths?
Team 88 doesnt have the best members out of all the clans. What we have is unity with our top players and we come to each clan war we also care about winning, so we put alot of effort into it. THIS is why team 88 is 32-4 in clan wars.
Impressive, most impressive. Tell me a bit about your history. Looking at the clan wars stats it seems like you're a pretty stabilized clan, but not since recently have you been making headlines. Why is that?
Team 88 has been around for 5 years now, i have founded/lead it all this time. We are a proud clan that has great diversity, although we are mostly usa b members as well. We are making headway jus recently i believe because we really got all our pieces together, BJ is one of the most underrated players around and is extremely reliable, we have kickdog and many other players who simply win their matches. It also helps we have 3 co leaders who harrass all the players all week to make the clan war. And we all practice together a ton, makes for a tight nit group of skilled gamers.
What are your expectations in WGTCL Season 6? What do you think of the teams participating? Better or worse than last season?
Well TE dropped/died (Again) which is to bad, they would have been fun. To be honest im a bit disapointed with BWCL this far. We played GN and experienced BM. And admins have been REALLY slow to act on it. Basically GN called "freewin" than their player logged off and hasnt been seen since. The admins said they want us to regame... but now its been 2 weeks? Aside from this, WGTCL offers same talent and than some as WGTCL did, i jus hope it starts getting ran as well as WGTCL. Germans probably dont know how to handle the bm, since all germans are generally mannered, hehe.

Which league are you focusing the most on? BWCL or WGTCL?
We give both equal effort, we would gain more respect i think by winning BWCL since that is where teams like ToT BHC Ash iV and such truly game.. but we give both equal effort But like i said, WGTCL was ran better, i think they know how to deal with bm better...
Where does your name come from? German mythology (Wotans horse), or is it just a number?
I saw alot of people posting about this on ur site, and a lot have asked me over the years. 88 simply means my lucky number ;) However I later found out from a german 88 member that 88 also means HH or Heil Hitler. This is sad, since we are definately not a racist team.
Will you win next season as well? And what do you think of the maps that will be used?
Maps are always fine, or at least work in our favor cause we train/practice those maps, whereas other teams find out about them the day of the clan war hehe. Yes i think we will win again, this is the mentality u have to have to win. We're really looking forward to CW vs DBE again! They missed their gosus, and they are a really mannered/amazing team, when u play a clan like this its alot of fun.
