United Kingdom. With a good lineup and flawless administration it was a great start on the fresh and new Nations Cup. Sweden won the game with 5-2. The next round Sweden faced their rivals
Denmark. They only lost one match, putting the score to 6-1.Now, with two wins in the luggage, they were set up against the Land Down Under -
Australia. The last Nation war Sweden had won with the close numbers 4-3, but this time it was the other way around. Australia beat Sweden, and now Sweden was placed #3 in the group, next to Poland and Australia. The next round, the fourth actually, Sweden won over
Slovakia due to walkover. With the three very experienced members a big part of the "old ones" in Team Sweden; Daaman, Dealer, SaFT and JessE, the team is highly spoken of. Some say that Sweden is not the team it used to be, but a record of only three losses speaks for itself.

Sweden vs Poland - CoverageAs most of you probably know now, the main highlight of yesterday in the Starcraft community was the nation war between
Sweden and
Poland. An extraordinary close nation war including a huge fan support of both teams - over 7020 visited GosuGamers yesterdayto get the latest updates about the match. The first game was suprisingly won by the new Swedish recruit
Kimthan versus Polands most feared player,
Blackman, at Lost Temple. This slight advantage for Sweden switched fast and Blackman turned the game into a 2-1 win for Poland. Next up to report loss was
Dealer who lost to
tomsOn, 0 games to 2. Tomson had before the match promised to eat up his mouse if Poland lost - and at this point it didn't look like it, at all. Especially when
Raven happily announced he had beaten
WhiZ 2-0. It did not look good for Sweden, and just another loss would finish the match. But from there on it turned.
KaaZ reported a win after three intense games of fighting to
Draco, 2-1. In the last game on
Dahlia of jungle Draco had to use arbiters with recall in order to get out of KaaZ's containment outside his bridges. But when the money in both his main and two expansions were all gathered and his main filled with lurkers, he surrendered. Poland in lead with 3 games to 1, and game one between
Daaman and
Spawn was just finished, apparantely a 60 minutes long battle cruiser fighter, ended up in favor to Daaman. Thereafter a win by Spawn but Daaman once again turned it back in Sweden's favor and ended it with a strong 2-1.The 2on2s started and Sweden needed to win both of these in order to win the match. First out was
Minister(GN) with his team mate
Scorpion(GN) versus
KaaZ and
Dealer. The first game at Lost temple was a 4 x Zerg match - which we tend to see a lot these days (especially in the playoffs of » WGTour 2on2 season 7). Dealer died early but KaaZ managed to beat both the two Polish players alone. The outcome of that 2on2 match, however, was 2-0 in favour to Sweden, a very strong comeback. Just like in the nation wars » Sweden vs China, the outcome of the whole nation war were in the hands of Daaman and Saft and the final 2on2 match. This time versus
1410)Twins and
1410)Floe. These two were perhaps Sweden's strongest card and while the rest of us waited anxiously in the channels, the first game begun at Lost Temple. Battle reports follows by
[HoT]TexaS:Daaman and Saft versus Twins and Floe
Game 1 - Lost Temple
Twins and
Floe , starting at 6o'clock and 9o'clock, opened the game with a dual 9 pool rush on
SaFT at 12o'clock, who started with 12 pool, followed by second hatch.
Daaman used dual barracks, but was quite helpless, when he saw that SaFT was attacked by 14 lings and 3 drones morphing into creep-kolonies on SaFT's creep. So he decided to attack Twins, who built sunken colonies in his main to protect himself against the incoming marines and scv's.

The main of SaFT after the rush
Daaman managed to build a bunker in Twins main, preventing him from getting out. He raised his army with firebats ,marines and medics and was able to kill the expansion of Floe and he attacked the main of Twins, who was forced to spend many drones to block the terran forces against the 4 sunkens. He lost many units against the lurkers and hydralisks of the zerg players in some battles in the middle of the map, afterwards he did an expansion and he did tank drops onto the cliff of the zerg expansions, while he got dropped by lurkers in his main and his expansion attacked by hydralisks and lurkers. He lost almost all units and conceded the game.
Result :
0 - 1
