XPlay did not happen to be a competition for the Korean Undead.
Last night, the 72th edition of the popular ZOTAC Cup kicked off. Unlike the last tournaments, FoV, the previous winner was the only Korean player to be seen around. Other popular names were Satiini, Sting, Sonik and TargA.
After the Orc domination in number 69, the next two titles were grabbed by the race which hates the green skins the most. Space scored a clear 3-0 victory over MichaeL, and so did the ex 4Kings member FoV, against ReMinD, who actually switched to Orc in the first two games.
Was XPlay, the rather unknown German player going to do that? Well, first he had to make his way to the final in tough matches versus All1gatoR, DeloreX and Sting, being the underdog. FoV did not face any troubles and did not drop a map against Satiini, PsYkO and Almost. Now the only question was, was XPlay going to even manage to be any competition for FoV, who is a known Night Elf killer? Was he gonna betray his race for the so called "imbalanced" one, and try to make his way to the top with the Blademaster?
Well, he did not. The German gamer decided to stick to his main race. After the games, however, it was not sure if it was really the best decision. FoV totally destroyed his opponent, leaving him no room for any rivalry. Another sleepless night pays of for the only Korean in this Cup, as he is know 100 Euros richer.
Game 1 @ Twisted Meadows
XPlay chose the Demon Hunter and attemplted to creep with his Ancient of War. However, close positions and a good scout by his opponents messed up the German's plans. FoV managed to distract the Gnolls with his Acolyte, and make them attack the freshly pumped out Archer and the AoW, as both took quite a lot of damage. The Undead immediately went harassing, and it turned out to be very successful. He canceled 3 Ancient of Wars, which XPlay tried to build, killed some Archers and the Demon Hunter. The Altar was next, and with Gargoyles on the way, FoV was now simply demolishing the Night Elf base, winning the first game, after only 7 minutes.
Game 2 @ Echo Isles
Seeing that the "ordinary" would hardly work against the Korean machine, XPlay chose a different strategy. He decided Warden to be his first hero, and build two Ancient of Wars at the same time. However, FoV did not suffer any real damage from XPlay's harass, and crept his way to level 2. Checking out the Night Elf main, he built an Tree of Life, and successfully got in to the mine. But as it turned out, the cost was too high. Very late tech by the German ment that his opponent could calmly expand on his own, and attack the Night Elf forces with the freshly added Lich. Hero and army kills, and without any problems, FoV takes the win for the second time, now in 10 minutes.
Game 3 @ Turtle Rock
FoV got the same old Death Knight, as expected, but his opponent dumped the heroes from his Altar, and took one from the Tavern - the Beastmaster. XPlay opted to harass the Undead base, but it quickly turned out as the Night Elf running away from FoV. Former 4K star cut a lot of archer heads, losing a few ghouls. He backed up a bit, to strengthen his army with some fiends and the Naga. The Korean gamer did not let the Panda to reach level 2, and with the addition of Lich and destroyers later, he swapped out the army of bears and dryads. FoV 3-0 XPlay
