5 questions for Mazor, BlizzCon attendant

1
You were recently invited to BlizzCon to take part in the RTS Community Summit. Could you tell our readers a bit more about that, and how does it feel to be invited to such a honorable summit?
- Basically the whole idea is that Blizzard invited a representative from the major StarCraft/WarCraft websites to the event to let us meet the developers and get to know them, test the game the day before BlizzCon starts and supposedly to discuss details regarding the game. They mentioned that there are many plans but I do not know the exact details yet.

It feels great being invited, I was not planning to go at all but now that this came up I'm really looking forward to it, to see the new game, meet the Blizzard representatives and GosuCrewers who'll be attending (DJTyrant, Xeris, Bobotastic and NastyMarine), etc.

It's really a short trip, they're flying me in there for three days and then straight back again. :)

So it's the actual meeting you're looking forward to the most? Will you have chance to follow the SC and WC tournaments there? How big is your interest for competitive e-Sports these days?
- Truthfully that feels less relevant to me personally. I know we're going to a real coverage up and running for everyone at the site as always, but for me it's all about StarCraft 2 :)

What are your thoughts on StarCraft 2 of what we've seen so far?
- I think it really has the potential to become the great uniting game of the RTS scene and to be the main and most dominating eSports title for a long time. It will build on the success of both SC and WC3, meaning Korean and international, it will be nice graphics and new, meaning sponsors will love it, so assuming it's popular amongst gamers then its really here to say for a long time.

Personally I like the idea about being able to do even more at once meaning I can counter my bad timing/buildorders with high apm :P

What do you think that you yourself will gain out of this trip? Apart from getting your hands on the new game?
- I think its a great move from Blizzard to expand their relationships with the RTS sites and over the most recent years their activity really improved on this area, as we've reported at the site. I think that particular relationship will be very important for the future and I'm really looking forward for the RTS Summit.

Only there for three days, eh? Is it really that worth it?
- Sure is. Jetlag here I come ^^
