They took down FaZe Clan to qualify for the World Final in December.
After a week of competition, one team has walked away with the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022 title. In a nail-biting final, Heroic triumphed over FaZe Clan in a three-round showdown at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen.
The first map in play was Overpass, where FaZe Clan opened strong against Heroic – denying the latter any points until round six. By the end of the first half, however, Heroic managed to take a leapfrog to be in front of FaZe with a single-point advantage. Heroic took full benefit of the lead, to further distance themselves from FaZe in the second half, via several bomb diffusions. In round 27, it was all over as Heroic won 16-11.
On the second map, Inferno, Heroic again led the first half, as they collected a single-point advantage. However, FaZe rose in the second half where they demolished Heroic’s defence and not letting them gain any ground as the Scandinavians rushed ahead to end the game in round 28 with a score of 16-12.
Mirage was where everything was thrown for both teams as each side sincerely wished to themselves to become the champion. Heroic easily dominated in the first half, ending it with a score of 11-4. The second half saw the table flipped, as FaZe was in control as the CT side. They easily overwhelmed Heroic’s defences to end the map in round 30 with a tie of 15-15. Thus, overtime was called. Running Heroic to the ground in the second half of the map may have cost FaZe Clan as Heroic easily overcame them in extra time to gain the needed points to win the map. In the end, Heroic won the map 19-16.
The local boys Heroic walked away with $200,000 as well as the final berth to the BLAST Premier World Final 2022, which will be happening in Abu Dhabi in December. Runner-up FaZe Clan netted themselves $85,000 for their hard work in the Fall Finals, but they will also have a second chance in getting revenge as they are also qualified for the World Final, via their wins in EPL Season 15 and PGL Major Antwerp. There, Heroic joins seven other teams to see who will win the title of World Champion in Abu Dhabi.
