Promoted from the lower division of the previous season of Dota Pro Circuit Southeast Asia league, Omega Esports took a much-needed lead on week one of Season 2 upper division matches by securing two victories.

Along with them, BOOM Esports have also ended week 1 with two victories. Both teams entered the new season with slightly adjusted rosters. While BOOM are now reunited with their long-time carry player, Randy "Dreamocel" Sapoetra, who played the first season with ZeroTwo, Omega Esports have lost in the post Singapore Major shuffle captain Marvin "Boomy" Rushton to TNC Predator. In late December last year, they also lost Jun "Bok" Kanehara to the same TNC. However, about a month before the DPC leagues resumed, they added Samson Enojosa "Sam_H" Hidalgo and Mark "Shanks" Redira to their ranks, which seems to have been only beneficial for them.

Omega Esports’ two victories during the first week of SEA upper division were claimed over  Lilgun, the other team that promoted from #S1 lower division and over the Singapore Major attendees, T1. Both adversaries of Omega Esports managed to push the series to a game three, but to no avail. Against Lilgun, Omega relied on an Alchemist to hit the timers and play a perfect tempo game while against T1, they played a hyper-aggressive line-up with a carry Tiny that ended the game with spotless 11/0/8 K/D/A.

BOOM Esports were also pitted against Lilgun on week one and against Execration and finished with a better overall game score than Omega courtesy of a quick 2-0 over the former opponent.

Unfortunately for Lilgun, week one came to a close with two defeats in a row, the same applies for Execration, who also lost to TNC Predator.

SEA upper division week one standings:

BOOM Esports2-0
Omega Esports 2-0
TNC Predator1-0
Fnatic0-0
Neon Esports0-0
T10-1
Execration0-2
Lilgun0-2

Two teams have not played in the first week at all. Fnatic and OB.Neon Esports will enter the battle on April 21st and April 22nd, respectively. Fnatic will play just one series on week 2 while OB.Neon have two series scheduled.
