DVa Is The Most Isolated Character In The Overwatch Cast

Now I know what you're thinking. "Isolated? What does that mean? She's not lonely. She doesn't keep herself away from others. She's got friends like Daehyun and her other friends at MEKA." That's not what I meant. What I meant is, that out of all the playable characters in the cast, DVa has no canonical connection to any of them. It's like she's been written into her own little corner so that she could be her own little thing for the lore. If that's what they're going for, she just seems like a waste of space. And no, in-game interactions do not count because they have been confirmed to be non-canon. There are characters with lesser importance to the main story that have more connections with others in the cast.

Junkrat is partners with Roadhog and vise versa.

Zenyatta is Genji's master.

Hanzo is Genji's brother.

Baptiste is friends with Sombra and is looking to contact Mercy.

Symmetra has a personal bone to pick with Lucio after he stole his father's Vishkar technology, and ran Vishkar out of Rio.

Ashe has a personal history with McCree.

Orisa was built out of the OR-15s that Doomfist destroyed.

Bastion crossed paths with Torbjorn, and now Bastion is following him.

Hammond lived in Horizon Lunar Colony with Winston, and indirectly escaped with him.

Zarya went out hunting for Sombra and almost succeeded (She also apparently lost an arm wrestling match to Reinhardt, but I don't know if that's canon or not).

And now Lucio's connection with other cast members has been significantly increased in Overwatch 2.

DVa has NO ONE in the cast. The closest thing she has to a connection is that she listens to Lucio's music, and reads Mei's journals, but she's not directly connected to them (If the information within the voicelines is canon. In-game voicelines are not canon, but the information in them might be). And no, this isn't about how important she is to the lore (Or the characters mentioned above), this is about how she is directly connected to other cast members. Will Overwatch 2 and any other lore updates change that? Yeah it's a possibility.

It's a shame that DVa is so isolated from everyone else in the cast. She has a lot of potential to be something good for other cast members (Besides obvious ones like Lucio). She could be best friends with Tracer, she could learn a lot from Ana, she could go on about bragging how amazing she is to the former Overwatch members.

--OFF TOPIC--

Personally, I didn't like the goody-two-shoes personality that DVa was given in her animated short. I was hoping she would have a Tony Stark-inspired personality where she's selfish and has a huge ego, and that she's in it for the thrill of killing bad guys, and not primarily to save lives. I mean, doesn't she livestream her fucking battles?? If that's true, that already says a LOT about her. She could had been a controversial celebrity because she puts the life of others at risk just for the sake of showing off (I'm not saying she does, it's just an idea). Until she gets in some kind of life-changing (Or life-threatening) event within the present story that teaches her a valuable lesson, and develops her character for the better (Similar to Tony Stark). Instead, she's worshiped by everyone, has posters and signs of herself everywhere, and has a generic good girl personality that other characters like Tracer, Mercy, and Pharah have done much better. DVa just comes off as flawless and kind of mary sue-ish. But I'm getting ahead of myself. That's another topic all together.

Unless there's a small piece of canonical info regarding her connection with other characters that I may have missed, well feel free to correct me. I'm all ears.
