All the Diablo Immortal and Warcraft Reforged topics aside: I am realy worried of what we will get once Overwatch 2 is comming out. Here is the thing: Releaseoverwatch 1 was a blast in many ways. People who enjoy the story follow the story in all the different ways (animated shorts, comics, and so on). People who didn't bother just played an well thought out teambased heroeshooter.
The game we have today differs vastly from back then (i ain't gonna say worse) with all those added different kinds of buffs, debuffs, stuns, shieldtypes and interactions. While the story hasn't changed (it barely went forward realy) and will continue going in Overwatch 2, the gameplay will just be copy-and-pasted into Overwatch 2. And this is alarming to me.
Overwatch 2 when it was leaked before Blizzcon 2019 was such an glimmer of hope for me to get back the fun we had in the first 2 years, but the more informations we receive the more disappointed i realy get. A fresh start, a white blanket didn't got used and instead we still continue playing the same coregameplay like before. Reworking the gameplay by reassembling some of the more controversial heroedesigns is what i was hoping for (and it even would make sense storywise since some time has passed). And all we get is a new coregamemode, fancy new gamemodels and an PvE mode...
I won't buy it the second it becomes avaiable. While i still try my best to enjoy the game, there is no point for me to buy an already existing game with slightly more content around the gameplay.
