Only two Western teams have been invited for APEX Season 3
After rumours, it was confirmed today only two Western teams will be invited to Korea this time around.
Season 3 will kick off at the end of this month already, but we will have slightly less Western teams to root for. For Season 1, EnVy, REUNITED, NRG and Rogue were the lucky teams able to play in Korea at a LAN stage. Season 2, which finished this weekend, hosted EnVy again, as well as Cloud9, Fnatic and Misfits. So speculation for Season 3's Western teams pretty much started as soon as S2's were announced.
But rumours spread over the past weeks that S3 would only feature two teams from NA/EU. And this was confirmed as fact today during the Korean Superweek stream. Possibly due to the tight schedule, having to work around the upcoming Overwatch League, only two teams will and have been invited to fly to South Korea.
Still, who will those two teams be? EnVyUs could be the optimal candidate, winning it the first season and being the best performing Western team during the second one. They have been sharing mixed signals however, sometimes being for and sometimes being against flying away from home once again. We do know one team that is probably not going:
