OGN to launch Overwatch APEX league in early October

Overwatch Gosu “GosuGamers” Gamers

Also bringing notable casters DoA and MonteCristo with them, OGN is ready to bring us the best Korea has to offer.

Announced via an ESPN article, OGN has shared their plans of hosting a two tiered league lasting several months, starting on October 7. The top tier will have 12 of South Korea's best, with 4 international teams receiving an invite to the league. The second tier will have another 12 teams, all South Korean Challenger or Amateur teams looking to climb the ranks.

An aspect of the announcement was the reveal that OGN favourites Erik "DoA" Lonnquist and Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles will be commentating the event. Over the years the two have cast a variety of games with OGN, with a lot of their most recent fame coming from their work with League of Legends.

OGN has been a solid provider of Korean eSports for years, bringing great production value along with it. We have had some chances to get to know the current Korean stars, but this match intensive format will make getting to know that particular scene much easier.

As mentioned, the league will begin October 7, and stay tuned for more information as it is made available.
