Overwatch’s challenging achievements

Overwatch Gosu “GosuGamers” Gamers

When we talk about achievements there are always those games that test your patience to the limit, Overwatch is one of them.

Though Overwatch, being a multiplayer-only shooter, is not like most games, one thing it has that a lot of gamers can find attractive is the Achievements. Because all achievements are gotten through playing with (and against) other people, you can't focus as much on hunting achievements unless you want to ignore all the action and handicap your team.

Sure, there are some easy achievements, like getting 4 kills with a Reaper or Bastion Ultimate, and in most cases you just have to jump into the enemy team and press Q. But some of them can be quite a challenge, actually.

A good example of how frustrating they can be is showed by the Youtube user “Salty Phish” as he states that “it only took him 48 levels” to get  “The Floor is Lava” achievement. And even though rewards are mere stickers we all know how it feels to beat challenges when they are this difficult.

But that is just one of the many hard achievements that request some effort and are rather time-consuming; like Zenyatta’s “Rapid Discord”, in which you have to get 4 kills using the orb of discord within 6 seconds. Or Winston's "Mine Sweeper" where in just one life you must destroy 10 turrets or traps. Junkrat's "Mine like a steel trap" is no exception as making an enemy go into your traps with the help of one of your concussion mines could be quite troublesome (but a fun little trick to master).

Here we have one of the many Overwatch related videos by Stay-Pationt Gaming  with a step-by-step guide and some tips to get the job done.

If interested, you can watch the entire playlist by clicking here.

As for the Winston achievement we mentioned above, you should try to get it when on the enemy side there is a Symmetra as her turrets are often gathered and easy to spot, as seen in the video below.

While for Zenyatta's rapid discord there are some videos that show people getting it after many attempts, the only real advice we can give is to try and team up with a Zarya or Reinhardt, and coordinate your attacks with their Ultimates.

Of course there are cheesing methods that involve the use of a friend in the enemy team, but would you be satisfied knowing that you cheated? We think not. With time and a bit of luck everything is doable and the joy of knowing that you went through thick and thin to win the game’s harshest challenges is a feeling only true gamers know.
