Twitch Korea’s Streamer Battle tournament kicks off 6th June

Twitch Korea is hosting one of the first Overwatch tournaments since the launch of the game, in which eight invited twitch streamers will fight for glory and a prize pool of 1,000,000 WON (roughly 760 EUR/860 USD).

Twitch Korea announced their first ever Overwatch tournament, “Streamer Battle: Free Match”. Taking place on 6^th and 13^th June, eight invited Twitch streamers and their teams will have a chance to prove their worth in Overwatch, which has been quickly gathering popularity in Korea. While this may sound as showmatch-type tournament, Twitch has accumulated a total prize pool of 1,000,000 WON, which is roughly 760 EUR/860 USD, to be divided amongst the winners.

We have put together a viewer’s guide for those who are interested in the Korean Overwatch scene and want to catch a glimpse of the action.

When?

6^th June, 19:00 KST (12:00 CEST/03:00 PDT/06:00 EDT) – Quarterfinals
13^th June, 20:00 KST (13:00 CEST/04:00 PDT/07:00 EDT) – Semi-finals and Grand Final

Prize pool
 

• First place: 600,000 WON (456 EUR/516 USD) + 6x Overwatch Bags
• Second place: 300,000 WON (228 EUR/258 USD)
• 2x MVP: 50,000 WON each (38 EUR/43 USD)
   
• Viewer Raffle: lucky viewer will win a Winston plushie
   

Rules
 

• Quarter and Semi-Finals will be BO3, while the Finals will be BO5.
• Per round, the map to be played will be picked at random.
• In case of a tie, a Control match will decide on the winner (similar to Blizzard’s competitive mode).
