IDDQD prevail over Reunited to win Overwatch Weekly EU #3

Overwatch Weeklies EU Coverage Hub

The former Fnatic squad couldn’t get past the up and comers despite stomping through the rest of the bracket.

This Saturday marked the return of the GosuGamers Overwatch weeklies after two months of absence during the beta down time. The sixteen slots filled quickly, the pros eager to shake the dust of their weapons and engage in hearty competitions once again.

The top half of the bracket saw IDDQD (ex-Hulktastic) going unopposed through their opponents, including a convincing 2-0 against #2 in our world rankings Melty Esports. They were met in the grand finals by Reunited (formerly Fnatic) who also had a tough opponent in the semi finals in G2 Esports.

The culmination of the bracket was a five game brawl with the teams so evenly matched that mere seconds decided who would win each round. The score was finalized on Dorado when IDDQD were six seconds faster than their opponents, making them the third champions of the tournament.

In the wake of the new patch, viewers saw the meta shake up a bit. While Lucio and Reinhardt were still widely considered mandatory picks, the rise of Zenyatta as secondary support got fans of the metal monk excited.
