4 minute match: what happens when you face a couple of seasoned FPS players

A streamer and his group of gamer friends get paired up against a team FPS veterans. It's hard to imagine a game so one-sided could be this fun to watch.

The description in Ryuzilla's (@MLGRyan) video reads "Ryuzilla, Itmejp, Incontrol, Towelliee, SxyHxy, Summit1G vs 6 Quake Players!" which gives us a hint of what is to come. If you have been in eSports for a while, you would recognize most of the names on Ryuzilla's teams- some known for FPS, some not, but all gamers nonetheless. They aren't helpless players and are probably above average. Their communication and strategy alone reveals this.

But a few key players on the opposing team seem on another level. Perhaps it was the dubious balance of a Widowmaker being supported by Mercy's damage boost, or maybe the friendly team failing to adapt to such an aggressive sniper- whatever it was it resulted in a brutally onesided match that only lasted 4 minutes.

After getting thoroughly trumped, one of the voices in the video remarks that the match "gives him hope" of Overwatch having a high skill gap. This certainly seems the case. The best eSports all share one rule: the higher skilled player should always win. FPS games easily follow this rule due to the high level of mechanic skill needed and while one Overwatch's unique selling points is how easily accessible it is, it's good to know that a brutal sniper can still carry a game almost single handedly.

Looks like our prediction might be coming true.
