PUBG: DED.NET spins out of PUBG: Battlegrounds.
Publisher Krafton and developer PUBG Madison have officially announced PUBG: DED.NET, an all-new multiplayer first-person shooter spinning out of PUBG Battlegrounds. This game combines shooter gameplay with roguelite progression, set in the backdrop of 1990s Cascadia.

What is PUBG: DED.NET?
Krafton revealed an all-new PUBG game at this week’s Gamescom Opening Night Live, going back to PUBG: Battlegrounds’ multiplayer roots. The upcoming game will combine first-person shooting gameplay with roguelite progression across multiple runs. Players will be able to adapt and build up different abilities as they play.
According to its Steam page, PUBG: DED.NET is described as a multiplayer game where “a match lost is never a run wasted.” Players will embark on “runs” through 1990s Cascadia to treat injuries, earn abilities, and outlast their competitors. In each match, players can mix and match “dozens of abilities” to create their own playstyles.
Players will also be able to use car doors as riot shields, cannibalise enemies for their own health, play dead, or even hack payphones to steal money from their rivals. Ending matches in defeat will still allow players to retain their progression and evolve their builds.
Notably, PUBG: DED.NET’s Steam page also has a statement on the game’s usage of AI generated content: “Our team uses AI tools to help develop some in-game content.”
PUBG: DED.NET does not have a release date yet. PUBG also has another spin-off in the works, entitled PUBG: Black Budget.
