Vesna will debut in Genshin Impact's Version 7.1 update.
Genshin Impact has unveiled another new playable character from Snezhnaya, introducing players to Vesna, the Commander-in-chief of the Druzhna. Known as the "Snowy Banquet's Sharp Blade," Vesna comes from the ancient Strivozha clan and serves as one of the Tsaritsa's most formidable warriors.
Who is Vesna in Genshin Impact?
Vesna is a new character from Snezhnaya and a member of the ancient Strivozha clan, an old Vila bloodline that predates even the region's turbulent early history. Her character design references Slavic folklore, specifically the nymph-like fairies who have ambivalent relationships with humans.
The Strivozha family has weathered countless conflicts and earned plenty of honors over the generations, with Vesna now serving as one of its most prominent members. Despite her prestigious background, however, Vesna isn't exactly interested in behaving like a typical noblewoman.
She's described as radiant, graceful, and refined, but also as a free spirit who refuses to be bound by the norms of polite society. This has led to more than a few surprising antics, mainly shown through reckless ideas and childish pranks.
While Vesna might have a mischievous side, her reputation isn't built on her manners or family name. Instead, her virtue and honor come from her skills with a sword.
The Druzhna is described as the blade wielded by the Tsaritsa herself, with Vesna serving as its "keenest edge." Despite being relatively young for a Vila, she has already risen through its ranks to become the organization's Commander-in-chief.
According to her official character description, Vesna's loyalty is as unchanging as Snezhnaya's ancient glaciers. No matter how unpredictable the wind may be, she remains committed to the Tsaritsa and her homeland.
As a playable character, Vesna will have an Anemo Stellar Linchpin, although her weapon type and rarity remain unknown as of yet.
When is Genshin Impact Version 7.1 coming out?
Version 7.1 is expected to be released sometime in September. Following the standard patch schedule, it is likely to drop on the 23rd. Version 7.1 will also likely celebrate Genshin Impact's 6th anniversary, which is commemorated on the 28th of September.
