PUBG Mobile 4.4 update introduces Ancient Greece-themed Hero’s Crown mode and more

The 4.4 version update stores one of the PUBG Mobile's biggest updates of the year.

KRAFTON has officially launched Version 4.4 of PUBG Mobile, introducing an Ancient Greece-inspired theme across maps, gameplay mechanics, challenges, and abilities.

Hero’s Crown transforms the battlefield

The centrepiece of the update is the brand-new themed mode, Hero’s Crown, which completely reimagines the battlefield with an Ancient Greece/Roman-inspired aesthetic. Players can now explore marble ruins, mythological structures, and redesigned areas spread across the map.

The Erangel map received the biggest makeover. Several hotspots have been revamped to fit the new theme, including Ruins, Ferry Pier, Mylta, and other key locations.

One of the biggest highlights is the floating Nimbus Island, also known as the Crown’s Abode. Packed with high-tier loot and rewards, the island is expected to become a major drop location for players looking for an early advantage.

The update also introduces several mythic powers:

  • Heart of Fury–grants increased movement speed and defence
  • Wax Wings–allows players to glide through the air
  • Battle Flag–creates a zone that boosts damage output

New Glory Point system and mythic Trials

Version 4.4 introduces a new progression feature called the Glory System. Players can earn Glory Points by eliminating enemies, assisting or reviving teammates, and completing newly-added Trials.

Trials are another major addition to the update, offering players opportunities to earn additional rewards, supplies, and temporary buffs. These themed challenges include:

  • Achilles’ Trial–a fast-paced dash challenge
  • Spartan’s Trial–wave-based combat against enemies
  • Prometheus’ Trial–tasks players with lighting the Sacred Fire
  • Icarus’ Trial–aerial obstacle-course gameplay
  • Gryphon Trials–football-inspired mini-games scattered across the map

Completing these activities not only rewards players with high-tier loot, but also significantly boosts their Glory Points progression.

Helios Trial and AI companion reward

A final special trial called the Helios Trial is also available to unlock. Squads must finish in the Top 4 while also having at least 50 Glory Points to earn an invite to the Helios Trial. When accepted, this will ascend your team to the floating island for the final showdown.

In this special encounter, players must collect five embers around the area before using the Sun Chariot to defeat the Helios boss. Successfully completing the challenge unlocks major rewards, including the Helios AI Companion.

The companion can assist players in combat, provide healing support, and even revive teammates during battles, as per every other companion.

Classic Mode receives new weapons and vehicle

Outside of Hero’s Crown, Classic Mode has also received several additions to its weapon and vehicle lineup.

Two new weapons are joining the game:

  • M1 Garand–capable of automatically reloading after dealing enough damage
  • Panzerfaust–a powerful rocket launcher effective against enemies and vehicles at long range

Meanwhile, the JS9 submachine gun will now appear more frequently in loot spawns across maps.

A new vehicle called the Roadster is also added. The stylish two-seater convertible features a turbo boost system and will be available across most maps.

Livik has also received a brand-new Spawn Island where players can gather, warm up, and interact with teammates before matches begin.

Blue Lock collaboration arrives later this month

The update also teases an upcoming collaboration with Blue Lock, scheduled to launch on 22 May 2026.

The collaboration will introduce character-inspired outfits based on popular strikers including Yoichi Isagi, Meguru Bachira, Seishiro Nagi, and Rin Itoshi.

The crossover will also bring additional themed cosmetics, weapon skins, and exclusive collaboration items.

There are plenty more tweaks and widespread changes across PUBG Mobile, so if you want to dive into the finer details, check out the full 4.4 patch notes here.
