Genshin Impact is gearing up for a better player experience with this upcoming version update.
With Genshin Impact’s Version 5.8 right around the corner, a new Developer’s Discussion has listed out the improvements and new features players can expect once the new version drops.
There’s tons of optimisations to look forward to, from updated quest interfaces, world exploration updates, and all the way to one-click time skip for quests and video demos, here’s what’s coming in the new update:
New Time Skip feature and quest interface optimisation, among other gameplay updates
A one-click Time Skip for quests and video demos for character talents will now be made available, allowing an easier experience for Travelers to complete quests and gain clearer understanding of character talents.
This doesn’t mean that you can skip quests entirely though, sadly, Genshin Impact is yet to even acknowledge that such a feature is needed in the game. The one-click time skip feature will instead lessen the effort you need to put out to change the in-game time (which makes players go to the main menu to access the clock). Once 5.8 drops, you will only need to navigate to the quest objective, which will automatically jump to the required quest time.
Besides this feature, another update to quests is the addition of an audio settings shortcut to the quest interface, allowing players to adjust volume balance without having to wait for certain scenes to end.
World exploration also got an update, this time with local specialties. The material tracking interface will display character icons for those who can detect local specialties for their specific region, making it easier for players to fill up their party with the necessary characters without having to scroll through their talents.
The Oculus Resonance Stone also got a minor buff, allowing more flexibility when it comes to collecting oculi. If a marked Oculus is already visible in your map, you are now able to consume another Oculus Resonance Stone to mark a new one–however, the original location will be replaced with the new location.
Artifacts will also now feature special markers that will show that they are character-compatible, meaning a fully leveled-up artifact will be marked with a special icon that signifies its compatibility with your characters.
And finally, character demos will now be made available for new characters released in Version 5.7 and onwards, giving Travelers an easier way to understand just how a character’s kit works–no more reading through complicated text!
Genshin Impact will have its Version 5.8 special program preview livestream on 18 July at 08:00 AM (UTC-4).
