Genshin Impact Version 5.7 adds a tantalising new story quest.
HoYoverse has unveiled more details for Genshin Impact Version 5.7, titled “A Space and Time for You,” via a recent livestream. This major update adds two new playable characters to the game–Dahlia and Skirk–along with a story quest that centres on the Traveler twins, as they head towards a climax in the story.
Version 5.7 is set to drop on 18 June, 2025. Here are the livestream codes:

Genshin Impact Version 5.7 banners: Skirk and Dahlia join the game
Genshin Impact Version 5.7’s banners are not to be missed, thanks to the introduction of two new characters: the five-star Skirk and four-star Dahlia. Skirk comes into the story as Childe’s mysterious master, who once trained under Surtalogi "The Foul," one of Khaenri'ah's Five Sinners.
She uses Abyssal power camouflaged as Cryo, and shifts between two styles of combat. She can either dish out sustained damage with her enhanced Normal Attacks, or deal AoE Cryo damage using her Elemental Burst. Her attacks draw on a resource called Serpent’s Subtlety, which can be generated using her Skills and Talents, rather than Elemental Energy. Skirk also buffs her DMG and gives an extra level to teammates’ Elemental Skills, so long as the team consists of only Hydro and Cryo characters.
Next up is Dahlia, a Hydro support character who serves as Deacon of the Church of Favonius. Dahlia can put up a renewable shield using her Elemental Burst, which can be reactivated using Normal Attacks or Freeze reactions in combat. His Talent can buff teammates’ ATK SPD, and his Elemental Skill can bounce allies into the air or deal Hydro DMG.
Version 5.7’s Event Wishes will consist of Skirk and Dahlia in the first half with a rerun for Shenhe. In the second half, players can pull for Pyro Archon Mavuika and Emilie.
A new Archon Quest spells trouble for the Traveler twins
Genshin Impact’s Version 5.7 Archon Quest follows up on the “Bedtime Story” quest, with the Abyss Order beginning to mobilise in Natlan. A fight is brewing, and the Traveler’s allies are beginning to show up in force–but the Traveler is about to discover some secrets regarding their sibling’s schemes.
This update also adds a few minigames, including a simulated adventure game that has players participate in tactical team-building. Here, players select Companion Pieces to form a team, power those pieces up, and choose between different routes for their journey.
A new permanent combat mode called Stygian Onslaught is also on its way, featuring three bosses that rotate every update, and six levels of difficulty. Lighthearted stories from Teyvat will also be available via Travelers’ Tales: Gilded Chapter.
Additionally, more game optimisations are coming to Version 5.7, including more resource options for mobile players, and some improved quality-of-life additions. Genshin Impact Version 5.7 launches on 18 June, 2025.
