Arcane is over, but even more League of Legends spin-off series are in the works.

Netflix and Riot Games’ acclaimed League of Legends TV adaptation Arcane finally came to an end last weekend, following a two-season run of 18 episodes. However, the creative team behind the series is already working on three spin-offs set in various known locations in the League of Legends universe.

Namely, Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia have been described by showrunner Christian Linke as the “next steps into this cinematic universe.”

Three Arcane spin-offs already confirmed in the works

It looks like Riot Games and animation studio Fortiche already have their next few League of Legends adaptations all mapped out. Following the conclusion of Arcane Season 2, showrunner Christian Linke attended an interview with Twitch streamer Necrit94 to speak about future adaptations of the League of Legends universe.

In the interview, Linke directly confirmed that “We are investing quite a bit in Noxus, Ionia, Demacia [...] We start, really, with character stories. But I’m very confident that we’re investing in the right stories [...] We have a lot of data, we know which characters our audience likes and plays a lot.”

While there was no direct confirmation of which characters these projects are specifically planned to center on, Linke noted that they have “a lot of fandom, a lot of interest.” He was also careful to note that these featured Champions weren’t specifically picked because of their in-game winrate, but because of how much players like them according to lore.

However, future Arcane projects might not just be limited to these three locations, as Linke specifically stated that “we are looking at every region.” He also mentioned that the next series “is already in development for about a year” so one hopes that we’ll find out more about that project soon, at least.
