Blizzard and Twitch to award $45,000 to the best streamers of 2013

General Radoslav “Nydra” Kolev

Blizzard and Twitch.tv will be partnering to award $45,000 to the most accomplished streamers of the Blizzard franchises. The nominees will be divided into 14 categories - both data-driven and community-voted - and the first results should come next week.

Every partnered Twitch streamer (meaning one that gets 500 average viewers, a regular broadcasting schedule and has applied for the program) that has streamed one of the StarCraft II, Diablo III, Hearthstone or World of WarCraft titles is eligible to compete in either of the 14 categories. Half of these categories will be data-driven (i.e. most hours streamed in 2013) while the other seven are quality-driven and be subject to community vot. The $45,000 will be distributed evenly between all categories once the voting and number-crunching processes are over.

The seven poll categories will be open starting today up until February 5th. February 7th is given as the date for announcing the winners.
