As promised in the past, the French Zerg ends his run in StarCraft 2 this summer in order to focus on his studies. He pointed to the 15th of August as a specific date.
The enfant terrible of European StarCraft 2 is still set on quitting the game to turn to studies he mentioned on stream earlier today, a threat he made numerous times before, but wasn’t taken quite seriously for. Despite his plans to end his career last year already until being turned around by what is estimated to be a very lucrative offer by Team Evil Geniuses, it took until for his fans to realize that Ilyes “Stephano” Satouri might stay true to his word this time around. He made it known from the start that his main incentive was earning money to finance studies.
Apart from his consistent reign over the Western scene for the past two years, which garnered him victories in IPL, ESWC, NASL and the European WCS Qualifiers over the past two years and thus grossing over $200,000 in prize money, putting him into the top 5 most winningest players in StarCraft 2 history, he was also known for his antics outside of the game itself.
