Funn1k: 'I'm not sure if Empire's international roster will work'

E-Frag has interviewed Na'Vi's Funn1k and asked him about The International and its qualifiers and the recent roster shuffles in the CIS scene. The Ukrainian also shared some thoughts on the current meta game.

Let's talk about the new Na'Vi roster first. How do you think Kuroky fits into the new roster that consists of players mainly talking their native language and do you have any problems with a language barrier?

At the start we had some miscommunication, but after some time the things became good. Kuro is also learning some Russian nowadays, so I feel communication won't be a problem in future.

That's great to hear. Ever since you've left Empire, the team was struggling to find their form. What in your opinion is the source of such a problem and do you believe Empire has the motivation to get back on the very top of EU Dota?

The problem is, in CIS Dota community, it's hard to find a good replacement for my role. They did try to play with Vigoss, but this change didn't work for them. As for getting back to the very top of EU, I don't know actually, but LightOfHeaven can do a lot of stuff for the team.

You mentioned LightOfHeaven can do a lot of stuff for Empire, what exactly do you mean? How do you feel about Empire's new roster? Considering that you replaced LightOfHeaven in Na'Vi, do you feel he is the right replacement for you in Empire?

To be honest, I don't like it, and I'm not sure that international roster will work for them. Also, Goblak left the team. LightOfHeaven is a good replacement for any player, he can help the team improve in tactics and strategy, which was Goblak's job before.

How do you feel about your chances at TI3? Na'Vi is considered to be one of the top non-Chinese teams, and is expected to finish among the best teams at TI3. What do you think?

I feel we can aim for the one of the top finishes, it will be hard, but possible for sure.
