Alicia Forced His Opponent to Meet his Maker

The first series of the night was between the favorite to win the group Alicia, and Maker. Game one began with Maker performing an aggressive three barracks marine pressure. That was barely held by Alicia since his storm finished right in time, which allowed him to demolish Maker's bio army and take game one. Game two Maker went for the same build, but was able to snipe Alicia's expansion. Alicia afterwards teched to dark templars and hit a great timing with them crippling Maker's economy and allowing him to surge ahead. Eventually Maker simply went all in and was destroyed by Alicia's army.

Illusion Shows how Good his Multitasking is

The second series of the night was between MoonGlade and Illusion, a TvZ that was very entertaining. Game one Illusion built a large amount of hellions to harass MoonGlade, and tried to hit a timing push with hellions and marines. MoonGlade was able to hold just as his roaches morphed, after he held he counter attacked and was able to catch Illusion off guard giving MoonGlade Game one. Game two Illusion took a far more aggressive route with a relentless amount of aggression with his marine/widow mine ball. MoonGlade accidentally miss keyed and built another infestation pit instead of his ultralisk cavern which delayed his tech and allowed Illusion to destroy two of his bases. This allowed Illusion to take the game tie up the series 1:1. Game three MoonGlade decided to try a roach max aggression which delayed Illusion's third base and had an overall success. Illusion was able to claw his way back into the game with a massive amount of drop harassment, sniping almost everything in the main as well as three expansions. This forced Moonglade all in and Illusion was able to easily hold against it and take the series 2:1.

Alicia is First to advance to ro16

The series between Alicia and Illusion was a much anticipated match. Game one began with Illusion performing a double reaper attack that hurt Alicia which allowed Illusion to take the lead early on. However Illusion took a less then favorable engagement, engaging when his army was in red and before cloak was done for his ghosts which eventually cost him the game. Game two Illusion switched it up and went for a hellibat drop which forced Alicia to spend both of his photon overcharges to deflect the drops. Illusion took advatage of this by hitting a Marauder/hellibat timing and was able to take game two. The final match Illusion attempted to double proxy rax, however Alicia was able to hold it off and counterattack with stalkers and his mothership core and take the game and with it the series. Allowing him to be the first of the group to advance to the round of 16.

Moonglade wants a rematch

The next match was between MoonGlade and Maker to see who would go on to face Illusion for a chance to move on to the round of 16. Game one was extremely back and forth with Maker going mech with siege tank/thor and MoonGlade responding to it by massing a large amount of swarm hosts. Maker sieged his tanks in a great position, however he unsieged his tanks and over extended which cost him his entire tank supply. After that happened he had to play from behind and once vipers came out MoonGlade just walked over his tank supply. Game two told a different story with Maker performing a heavy hellion harass which killed 16 drones. Afterwards Maker was able to go up to three bases and push with a huge bio army and simply kill MoonGlade to tie the series. Game three Maker opened with banshees and killed close to 18 drones and sniping MoonGlade's spire. However, MoonGlade was able to remake the spire and surprise Maker and destroy 20 SCVs, and at the same time he was able to hold Maker's timing push and counterattack with his mutalisk ball and take the game and the series 2:1.

MoonGlade Gets his Revenge

With Moonglade beating Maker, it is only fit that the final match of the night was a rematch between Moonglade and Illusion. Game one Moonglade looked fantastic holding Illusion's marine/hellion push without taking very much damage. After he held the push Moonglade was able to push against Illusion with a huge amount of banelings and mutalisks, and take game one. Game two was one most interesting games of WCS North America so far. With an extremely back and forth game, however Moonglade was able to hold a base without Illusion knowing about it. So Moonglade was able to remax and defeat Illusion to take the series 2:0. He also moves on along with Alicia to advance to the round of 16.
