With 85% of fans voting for Dignitas to move onto the semi-finals, GGU denies the fan expectations. With extremely impressive plays and a must watch game 3, GGU the 6th seeded team gives the 3rd seeded team a hell of a beat down.

DIG vs GGU
Game one of the LCS quarter-finals started off between Dignitas going up against Good Game University. The game started out fairly normal besides that GGU switched their Karthus to bot to have Scarra going against the double lane. While the fans voted Dignitas to win 85%, GGU showed that they would prove these fans wrong. Starting the game off strong GGU managed to hold a small lead with only a few hundred gold difference.
GGU however shifted to second gear once the laning phase ended. With Daydreamin's Blitzcrank grabbing Scarra in every fight, GGU controlled the pace of each fight exactly the way they wanted it. Nothing Dignitas did mattered as GGU proved that without Scarra, every 4v5 was just a futile efforts to prolong the game. GGU looked strong as they completely destroyed Dignitas giving them an one game lead to the semi-finals.

If Game one exhibited that GGU was good enough to be in the playoffs, Game two signified that Dignitas truly deserved to be the top 3 teams of LCS. Dignitas started the game completely opposite of game one, and pulverized GGU in kills 3 to 1. Dignitas played extremely aggressively and matched the lanes exactly the way GGU had played in game one.
The problem for GGU in game two was that they were missing somebody that was able to truly tank them out of sticky situations. Dignitas took advantage of that and dismantled GGU with the Renekton and Nasus. With a victory in champion select with the amount of CC and global damage, Dignitas proved they were just too much for GGU to handle. Dignitas tied the score 1 to 1 and the matches go on to a game 3.

After a disappointing game two, GGU once again came out strong at the start of Game 3. ZionSpartan came out of game 2 telling his team that he will carry in game 3, and he indeed kept his word. After finishing off the top tower, ZionSpartan came down to the bot lane and manhandled Janna and Ezreal. At the same time Zion managed to escape with a sliver of health blue pilling to base right before Scarra's Requiem came down. Dignitas however followed up and destroyed the bot lane of GGU to tie the game up. Throughout the game GGU led in terms of gold the entire time, while Dignitas was able to see-saw the kill counts towards their favor.
GGU however looked unstoppable as each team fight put them up slowly. Jintae deserved massive recognition as he was landing perfect Orianna Shockwaves repeatedly often catching all 5 members of Dignitas. Scarra tried as hard he could to keep his team up with massive amounts of damage being dealt by his Karthus but was often picked apart when teamfights came around. DontMashMe farmed up a storm but was picked off by Dignitas enabling them a Baron...or so they thought. NintendudeX had something else in mind as he stole the baron for the umpteenth time in LCS and secured a massive lead. With GGU up over 10k in gold and Baron on there side each time, Dignitas was eventually just forced out of LCS Spring Playoffs, giving GGU a spot in the semifinals.
Dignitas loses in the first round of LCS Spring Playoffs to GGU and is sent to the relegation matches. GGU moves up to face Curse Gaming in the semi-finals which will continue tomorrow, April 27th at 20:00 CET.
