DreamHack Stockholm opening tomorrow

One day away from the big event and GosuGamers wanted to make sure you have all the details. The grand tournament will hold 96 players and will span two days across the weekend.



Starting tomorrow and including Saturday GosuGamers will be covering the DreamHack Open: Stockholm competition. 96 players have signed up to compete in the first ever HotS DreamHack event for a prize pool of 175,000 SEK (~$27,000). In addition to prizes, the four top players will receive direct seeds to the Grand Finals at the 2013 DreamHack Oepn Winter in November.

The tournament will start with a 64 player group stage consisting of 16 groups, four players each. The two top players of each group will move forward to the second group stage, where they will once again go into 16 groups, with the addition of the top seeded 32 players. The top 32 from that stage will go into the third and final group stage, consisting of 8 groups. The final 16 players will face off in a single elimination bracket up to the finals.
