The first day of the new season wasn't the best for the reigning champions of Najin Sword and they scored their first loss, and not a pretty one to that. In game one, MVP took complete control right after the 11th minute and what was a slow and passive game turned into a massacre. NaJin's bot, jungle and mid-lane were completely shut down, MVP's Shen boasted a 3/0/2 by the 20th minute and their bot lane was also at the impressive 4/0/6 cumulative score.
Once the laning phase was over, it only got worse for Najin Sword. Their tanks were lacking the necessary health pool and melted within seconds and every possible team fight went into MVP's favor. By the end of the game, the score was 18-3, way more one-sided than we would've predicted.
The moments before the final ace
The first set between Frost and SKT 1 was also not, strictly speaking, too back and forth. While Frost were able to keep up during the first fifteen minutes of the game and be on part with SKT, an astonishing Teleport/Thresh Lantern gank virtually decided the series. SKT took down three players in an instant, grabbed a 17-minute Baron and maintained a strong gold lead throughout the remainder of the game. A second Baron kill on spawn sealed the deal.
SKT enjoying their first major advantage
Unlike Najin Sword, however, CJ Frost did manage to come back from the crushing loss in game one. Led by Madlife's Crescendos and the devastating Elise Rappel/Shen Shadow Dash combo, Frost were able to secure one team fight after another, ultimately arriving at a 13K gold difference by the end of the game.
The next OGN Spring playday is on April 5th as MVP Ozone meets KT Rolster A and Incredible Miracle plays NaJin Shield.
