Groups A and B have now finished on Day 2 of the UK ESET Masters and halfway through the group stages there has already been a huge upset, with the favorite ForGG being knocked out in the first round!
After qualifying through the BYOC open bracket without dropping a map, the now teamless JonnyREcco put a stop to the 'Patch-Zerg' naysayers by going 4-1 in his group, leaving both ForGG and BabyKnight in his wake. As a result of both of these players being tied for third place, BabyKnight advanced from the group due because of his win over ForGG, resulting in a shocking turn of events where the korean favorite was knocked out in the first round despite a better map score. Snute also showed strong games on his way to topping the group dropping only one series to ForGG along the way.
TLO followed his team-mates' lead in his afternoon games with a clean sweep of Group B. It was not meant to be for the returning British champion Bling as he narrowly missed out on the third place spot due to losses in two hard fought series against Sting and TLO. The rest of the group shaped up as expected with Sting and HasuObs advancing, the korean losing only one series to the group winner from Team Liquid.
