Life kissing his first MLG trophy at Fall Championship
Seung Hyun "Life" Lee is crowned MLG champion for the second time in a row. The youngster triumphed over Flash to win $25,000 and his back-to-back MLG trophies.
The players traded set for a set from the very start. Flash went on the aggression with his signature bio-mine compositions but those were aptly shut down by Life in game one, giving the Zerg the early lead. Switching to macro-heavy opening on Whirlwind brought Flash the equalizer despite Life's very early pool but the StarTale ace took the lead once again on Akilon Wastes by sticking to his signature low-tier ling/baneling playstyle.
Up against the wall, Flash had a difficult choice to make and so he went full ballsy, pulling off a proxy double-rax rush to snatch Newkirk City, once again tying to score and putting it to 2-2. Little did Flash know, however, that this would be his last victory this MLG.
A massive ling/baneling bust drowned the Ultimate Weapon on Cloud Kingdom and Life was again in the lead but this time he did not allow Flash to make a comeback. In a game very reminiscent of the opening set, Life stood unmovable against Flash's hellion into bio-mine attacks and threw outrageous amounts of lings and mutas his way. Teching in the shadow of his swarming army, Life safely reached Greater Spire and unleashed his Brood Lords onto Flash. With his Viking count less than insignificant and his army being primarily Marines (and very few to that), Flash had to type his fourth GG of this series. With a score of 4-2, Life was crowned champion and handed a check for $25,000.
