In an incredible show of skill, RorO sweeps TaeJa taking the second semi-finals. Not giving TaeJa any room to breath with short games, RorO pulled through to the second GSL ZvZ final in a row.
Game one on Cloud Kingdom started slowly as both camps build up their defenses and expand. TaeJa starts things off with hellion harassment as RorO takes a fourth, fifth, sixth and even seventh base, maintaining a huge drone count of over 90. TaeJa finishes 3-3 upgrades and starts wrecking havok on the map. RorO stays with over 100 drones while having an Ultralisk Cavern and making Broodlords. TaeJa pushes across the map, taking out Corruptors and Broodlords and destroying RorO's many bases. Getting a strong supply lead of over 60, RorO's bases get decimated and he taps out - game one goes to TaeJa.
RorO regroups and learns from his mistake in game one, deciding to step up the harass and not play the macro game so much. On Whirlwind the game starts the same as the first, but RorO goes for Mutas faster, and properly uses ling run-bies to deal a lot of damage to TaeJa's third. With proper harassment RorO jumps ahead with a small supply lead. When the big engagement happens, RorO's Ling, Bling Muta finally pays off surging him ahead by 40 supply. Ultras appear on the field while RorO builds up more bases. TaeJa can't catch a break and when the last engagement happens, he just doesn't have enough units and completely loses the rest of his army. A short while after, down over 100 supply, TaeJa GGs.
In game three RorO decides to kick it up a notch. Seeing as TaeJa is incredibly scary in the later stages of the game, the Zerg decides to go for a Roach bust, getting more than ten Roaches in less then six minutes on Akilon Flats. Breaking the wall and doing heavy damage to the SCV line by seven minutes, all while droning up behind the attack, RorO seems unstoppable. TaeJa knows he's behind and has to strike now, so he sends his army across the map and goes for a bunker at RorO's third. The Zerg fends off the attack and when he goes over to break the wall once again, TaeJa has no choice but to call it over.
Icarus would be the place of TaeJa's greatest defeat. Reading his opponent and sensing another short game, TaeJa goes for Rax first, but later follows on with two Command Centers. RorO readies his baneling bust and charges forward at seven minutes. As the wall falls, lings rush the base and TaeJa GGs, leaving RorO one game away from the GSL finals.
As the pressure builds both players go back to steadier safer builds on Daybreak. TaeJa decides to show some strong harassment with Banshees and Vikings but get deflected. RorO counters with ling run-bies dealing a bit of damage. Fourth CC for the Terran and a fifth base plus Hive starts for the Zerg. Armies clash with no clear winner as RorO starts up Ultralisk production. In the next few engagements RorO gets on top while TaeJa retreats. A Planetary Fortress falls and RorO is ahead by 60 supply. The match concludes as RorO messes around a bit with hatches and Ultras, knowing his victory is assured. Ultras break TaeJa's front lines and the GG is called - RorO advances to the GSL Finals to face Symbol.
