Stay Green sweeps tdM for GSL Ticket

Trademark eSports and Stay Green are no strangers to Grand Finals and no strangers to facing each other. In the last two meetings Trademark was able to get the victory, now it was Stay Greens turn to shine.

The match was highly anticipated and it actually delivered a lot in terms of tension and excitement. A lot was on the line and so naturally the teams went into the match with a more conservative approach, not allowing for many kills in the earlier stages of the games. Both matches suffered a little bit in the action department early on, but picked up speed in the late game.

In the first match it came down tothe unconventional carry duel between noobG's Silhouette and the Arachna played by Australian sLiCKz. Both players were dishing out a lot of damage, backed up by marvelous initiation on both sides. Stay Green had the stat advantage fairly early in the game, but failed twice to make a convincing push into the Hellbourne base, as the defensive of Trademark was still too strong.

The longer the game went, the stronger the team fight of Stay Green got with Khezu on Keeper of the Forest getting key items like the Restoration Stone and the Portal Key up in time. Those items turned the tides of the engagements, countering the Tempest ultimates of Trademark's Captain Mynuts, leaving the team vulnerable.

Fights did go more and more in favor of Stay Green and after a major team fight victory in the mid-lane all three players of the Miami-based teams were matched against Silhouette and Zephyr as the sole defense for the Hellbourne side - obviously resulting in towers and barracks getting destroyed and Trademark conceding.

On the second map Mynuts drafted a tank-heal heavy lineup with Balphagore, Keeper of the Forest and Rhapsody in the core. Swindlemelonzz responded with a carry Torturer, Aluna and a Tempest, while picking up their trademark Deadwood as well.

As expected Trademark eSports was able to apply a lot of pressure in the earlier stages of the match - leading to a decent plus in terms of Gold Advantage for the European team. Unfortunately for them, Stay Green was able to almost win every single engagement and so sLiCKz on Torturer scaled out of control, the longer the match dragged on.

In the final encounter Trademark eSports tried to make something going, but Khezu landed a 4-man Tempest ultimate. with Torturer standing right next to him unleashing the heavy magic damage of his own ultimate. That fight helped sLiCKz to a Quadkill and a Bloodbath-streak and convinced Trademark eSports to let this one go and concede the match, as well as the series.

With this result Stay Green will be the first NA/EU team that can plan their trip to Bangkok, Thailand to compete for a total prize pool of $60,000 USD. For Trademark eSports one opportunity remains to travel alongside sG, when the second Qualifier kicks off in two weeks.

So far three well-known teams have been confirmed to attend the event, by either winning the qualifiers or being an elite team out of the SEA region. Stay Green will definitely meet Cats Gaming, who won the CIS tournament. While Orange eSports will also attend the event, just by registering in time and being in close proximity to the location.
