Code S Ro16 groups drawn, DRG vs Bomber in opening match

The Code S competition resumes this Thursday and four players are to make the next step before the week is over.

Eight zergs, five terrans and three protosses is the racial distribution on the eve of the final culling before the playoffs. With the groups now determined, eyes are set on each and every one of them, impossible to determine the toughest one just by looking at it.

In Group A, DongRaeGu finds himself in the company of three terrans, some of the strongest in the tournament to that. Nevertheless, DRG hails from a 4-0 Ro32 run after playing ZvT exclusively and his prospects are looking dashing.

Group B and C are the only ones harboring all three races. With numbers going into zergs advantage at least quantity wise and with the match-up still proving difficult for the protoss race in the late game, Squirtle and MC are likely in for a tough run as Symbol, Soulkey, Curious and Losira are all extraordinary opponents. A pinch of MarineKing and Gumiho is thrown in there to make the mix even more entertaining.

The zerg of the year and the protoss of the year Life and PartinG are to open Group D, their duel overshadowing the presence of the other two competitors, Bboong and RorO. Mostly known for his ZvT, Bboong only recently recovered from his long vZ and vP losing streaks and if he can't build upon that, this group is likely to be the dead of him. The prospects of RorO are equally grim: the KeSPA zerg survived a group with MVP and MarineKing but that was him playing his best match-up. As he comes in the booth on February 15th, the rules will be much changed.
