StarLadder Finals: MYM apologize to v1lat and Wagamama

One week after the release of a controversial article that called out StarLadder for not having met the organization's expectations and advised all prospective participants against attending their events, MYM rowed back yesterday and issued an apology letter.

Said article critisized that joinDOTA as well as Natus Vincere had recieved precedented treatment compared to other teams, which representatives from both sides corrected via press release, respectively a statement on the talkDOTA show later.

Further, negative remarks on MYM's housing during the weekend were made, as well as a delay on the transaction of the travelling expenses reported. Both claims were strengthened by a supposedly backing statement of PULSE captain Niklas 'Wagamama' Högström, who later clarified on our board that he simply confirmed the travel money not having been paid, yet did not support any other complaints issued.

The article closes with a peculiar observation, involving ESL Dota 2 community manager Aladin 'Chen Zhen' Ben, who - as committed muslim - got denied a free vegetarian meal by the event staff. A statement by Ben, which he claims was manipulated according to his personal blog, has been added to the letter as well.

In response to all points at issue, StarLadder lead commentator Vitalii 'v1lat' Volochai shared his opinions on the matter via the following entry, putting several details regarding the eventful weekend in place and demanding MYM to apologize to SLTV's sponsors as well as joinDOTA, Natus Vincere and ESL.

The german-based organization did so partly and primarily addressed StarLadder and Högström admitting inappropriate wording as well as having misplaced the PULSE captain's quote.

Regarding the statement by Ben however, MYM deny all faults and distance themselves from the community manager now saying that they were tricked into making false assumptions; an opinion Volochaii concurred with.

Defending himself against these new allegations, Ben yesterday issued a statement as well, confirming that he allowed MYM to use his name in the letter, yet reassuring that he has nothing to do with the drama.

Despite the controversy, all parties involved are eager to put this subject to rest. MYM is currently competing in the fourth StarLadder season.
