GEST Playoff bracket revealed

After a day filled with upsets, the June Edition of Gigabytes E-sport DotA Tournament can finally move to the playoff stage after the last tiebreaker was completed.



This month was the month for upsets as we saw 3 Teams from national qualifiers and wildcard teams progressing to the next stage. The Philippines are still looking strong as ever with all their representatives, bar Apple Park through to the next stage as well.

Group A: Minnows from Cambodia surprise all

Unknown team SVR_ES caused a minor upset in the group, coming out of nowhere and beating Pacific BadBurn for 2nd Place. Defending champions MSIEvoGT continue their strong showing in the tournament with a convincing 4-0 win loss record. SVR and BadBurn enter the quarter final playoffs.

Group B: TinhYeu upstage compatriots StarsBoba

Much like in Group A, Group B was also a Group filled with upsets as TinYeu DotA, a relatively unknown team from Vietnam took 2nd place ahead of their certainly more well-known group mates. March Champions Invasion narrowly took first place with their win over TinhYeu, while Dreamz took the last qualifying spot on the basis of a win over iDeal.

Group C: Mineski answer critics, iZone narrowly through

Mineski PColor took the top spot in Group C, with TellMeWhy from Thailand taking second spot ahead of past editions semi-finalists iZone 125, who only narrowly made it through after a tie-breaker match with Neolution from Thaliand. The Thais were upstaged by their unknown counterparts and find themselves out of this months tournament at the group stages.

Group D: Ritter dominating, Orange shaky

Ritter ART from Indonesia have secured themselves a quarterfinal berth in this months GEST after a impressive 4 wins from 4 in the group stages. Pacific Palit from Philippines grab second place ahead of Orange, who continue to show good results despite competing in both DotA and Dota 2 competitions.
