UNGL Nations Cup Grand Final Preview

The UNGL Nations Cup Semi-Finals have now been completed with Denmark taking a win over Greece and Australia getting a win over Sweden. There has been little focus on this tournament as the teams are made up of a mixture of players from seperate teams and they rarely get the chance to practice.

The rosters in this tournament have not been without their issues. As per the tournament rules, teams are required to have a maximum amount of three players from each team on a countries playing roster. This makes organizing matches and practicing extra difficult. Due credit should be given to these two teams who have managed to fight their way through the group and play-off stages.

The question remains, which country has the best 'Heroes of Newerth' players? Which team will walk away with the $700 first place prize and which team will be relegated to second with the $200 prize.

When it comes to an event like this, where the players are generally not used to playing with eachother, team work is a lot more important than individual skill (even though I still believe aus is probably a more individual skilled team). Australia also just has more experience playing with each other in general due to aus ih's and some of them being on the same team. - Stefan "tkothethrill" Riccelli

Denmark Team Denmark Denmark
The roster for 'Team Denmark' was put together by FreshPro himself. At the time he was still a part of the Fnatic team. The team features a number of extremly well-known players such as n0tail - FreshPro's former teammate, SemiJew, Buch, Haxxeren and ChubbyChris. They managed to pull a 2-1 win over Greece in their semi-final matchup and have showed increased ability throughout the tournament. It was no supprise to anyone that we saw this team reach the final with a powerhouse roster, expect them not to go down without a fight.

Danish Roster:
Henrik "FreshPro" Hansen (c)
Johan "N0tail" Sundstein
Mathias "SemiJew" Benjamin
Frederik "Buch" Petersen
Jeppe "Haxxeren" Jensen
Sebastian "ChubbyChris2" Lund

I think the match can go either way, depending on the mood and whether the servers are stable or not. Both teams can take the series potentially 2:0 but I'll go with Denmark 2:1 over Autralia. Denmark will pull out some interesting picks, Australia respond in game two but barely lose game three. We'll see though. - Jascha "NoVa_" Markuse (Fnatic.RaidCall)

Australia Team Australia Australia
The Australian team was selected by Frenetic Array's manager Shinkz and consists of a number of players from the 'Frenetic Array' team such as sLiCKz, Wytaliba, dabeliuteef and Jabbawabba however as per the rules of the tournament, only three players from one team pay play for the country at any given time. RogerDodger and KS4Lyf have been added to Team Australia and may not be known that well internationally however, locally they play for a team known as MindFreak eSports and is the second best team in Australia and are very capable players.

JunLiong "dabeliuteef" Loh
Trent "sLiCKz" Tucker
