Xiang "TH000" Huang was the highest earning player in 2011 with €34,175 in tournament winnings. This according to statistics from the pillar Chinese WarCraft 3 site Tatazu.com.
Doubters of WarCraft 3's continued popularity can feast their eyes on China and Korea, where tournament organizations handed out a total of more than €145,000 EUR in 2011.
The top three earners were the Chinese trio of TH000, Infi, and Fly100%, respectively. The aforementioned TH000 cashed in the most after winning the G-League, two Esports Champion League titles, and many other competitions.
Coming in at fourth, fifth, and sixth we find the Korean trio of Lyn, Moon, and ReMinD. While Lyn and ReMinD will continue to play in the land of Azeroth, Moon's last year of WarCraft 3 ended with €10,459 EUR in the bank from his IEF grand final victory back in October.
To find a player born outside of Asia we have to scroll down to eighth place, with Nikita "Nicker" Pomadov. After signing with TyLoo, it appears his trip to China was well worth it, as winning the CEC and finishing second in the G-League grand final netted the Russian Night Elf a total of €6,038.
Note that online cups such as ZOTAC were not included in the money list.
